Volunteer Screening Requirements
WISC supports and complies with the Volunteer Screening Guidelines and Requirements of our governing bodies, Durham Region Soccer Association and The Ontario Soccer Association.
All COMPETITIVE AND ALL STAR TEAM coaches and registered Team Staff
shall comply with the policy and procedures set out below:
High Risk Positions
Staff members of Competitive, Select, All Star, interlock teams or mini teams who play in District Leagues are deemed High Risk Positions and must comply with the following screening measures :
- Complete and submit (online or by hard copy) an OSA Application form for each season (indoor and outdoor)
- Club Application form
- 3 References (name, e-mail address, phone number) - to be verified by Club
- Criminal Record Check (which must include a Vulnerable Sector check) are good for one year and must be dated no earlier than September 30 of the previous year. Returning coaches, or any competitive team staff member with WISC, must submit an up to date CRC including Vulnerable Sector Check annually
- Evaluation in writing by Club Director of Coaching & Player Development
All RECREATIONAL TEAM coaches and registered Team Staff
shall comply with the policy and procedures set out below:
Medium Risk Positions
All Youth Recreational Team Officials (for ages 16 to 18 inclusive) are deemed Medium Risk and must comply with the following screening measures:
- OSA Application form
- 3 References (name, e-mail address, phone number) which may be verified at the discretion of the Club
- Criminal Record Check (which must include a Vulnerable Sector check) are good for 24 months and must be dated no earlier than September 30 of the previous year. Returning coaches, or any team staff member with WISC, must submit an up to date CRC prior to a third consecutive year with WISC in a team staff position
- Evaluation by Club
Low Risk Positions
Youth Recreational Team Officials and House League Mini Soccer Team Officials (for ages 4 to 15 inclusive) are deemed Low Risk and must comply with the following screening measures:
- Complete and submit (online or by hard copy) an OSA Application form
- 3 References (name, e-mail address, phone number) which may be verified at the discretion of the Club
- Criminal Record Check (which must include a Vulnerable Sector check) are good for 24 months and must be dated no earlier than September 30 of the previous year. Returning coaches, or any team staff member with WISC, must submit an up to date CRC prior to a third consecutive year
