A SCREENING INTERVIEW IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO BE PART OF A COMPETITIVE OR ALL STAR TEAM STAFF
Have you brought in your FINAL police check?
BOOK your screening interview as soon as you have been confirmed to have a team!!!
APPLY for your police check (including Vulnerable Sector Check) immediately to cover your upcoming season.
DON'T FORGET to advise any staff you wish to be on your roster for either indoor or outdoor that they must also be screened and registered with the club.
NEW COACHES must complete required forms below and book a screening appointment as soon as possible in order to be covered.
ALL COACHES please read requirements below.
Year 1: Evaluation, screening interview, Police Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check), OSA form, Club Application form, 3 references
Year 2: Evaluation, OSA form, Police Records Check
Year 3: Evaluation, OSA form, Police Records Check (PRC annually afterwards)
Returning team officials do not need to book a re-screening interview each season providing they coached for WISC in the immediate previous year. Each team staff member must bring to the Club office a Final Criminal Record Check or at a minimum, your receipt that you have applied for a police check. This will enable the office to process your paperwork for your team. Once you bring your Final Criminal Record Check to the office you will need to sign a form to acknowledge we have not kept a copy and that the police check has been returned to you. This can only be done by an official screening officer. Please send an e-mail to Diana Bebek at general@whitbysoccer.com regarding attending at the office to present your final document and sign off on it.
TO BOOK A SCREENING INTERVIEW - New coaches and new team staff must have a screening interview (it takes about 5 minutes) - please send e-mail to: general@whitbysoccer.com providing your availability preferably Monday or Tuesday evening during regular office hours to attend at the Club office with two screening officers.
If you have not completed the above, you will not be registered, placed on a roster, able to apply to go to tournaments, participate in a league, exhibition games, book fields, use gyms, sit on the bench, etc.
NOTE: These are requirements of our governing bodies - not rules initiated by this Club.
ALL competitive, select and all star team staff are considered "travelling teams" and therefore required to maintain an OSA Team Official ID book - blank books may be obtained at the Club office.
This is a requirement of our governing bodies - OSA, DRSA.
Please note the following criteria and deadlines for coach selection:
1. Demonstrate coaching experience which will include but not be restricted to technical
knowledge and tactical / functional knowledge;
2. Demonstrate commitment to WISC and the philosophy of Fair Play;
3. Possess and exhibit strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and the ability to relate
appropriately to the age level applied for;
4. Complete and submit Club Coaching Application Form by August 15th each year;
5. Attend initial hiring interview prior to September 15th;
6. Attend initial screening interview prior to September 28th;
7. Be certified as an OSA Senior Community Coach prior to start of season;
8. Returning coaches must attend annual performance and evaluation interview.

Have you handed in your
1. Police Check or Receipt to prove you have applied for a PC (good for 24 months)
2. OSA Coach Application Form (every season)
3. 3 References
Every season, ALL Coaches are required to register as a coach online or submit a completed OSA Coach Registration Form prior to being assigned a team. All individuals applying for the first time to coach a recreational team for the outdoor season must also submit a Criminal Record Check (CRC) to a Club Screening Officer along with 3 references. A letter is available at the Club office to identify you as a volunteer when applying for your police record check. The police check MUST be dated no earlier than September 30 of the preceding year. Your submitted police check will cover you for 2 consecutive years as a coach. As there is a lengthy wait for police checks each year, you may submit a receipt from the Police Department to confirm that you have applied and are waiting for your actual Police Report. You will be required to present the actual Police Record Report as soon as it is received. Police Reports are returned to applicant immediately upon presentation.
