Congratulations to the Whitby 2002A girls soccer team on winning the Adidas Continental Cup!

Congratulations to the Whitby 2002A girls soccer team on winning the Adidas Continental Cup! The girls celebrated Canada Day in fine form, winning their first two games 4-0 and 3-0 respectively. They continued their streak, defeating U15 and Olympic Development League teams culminating in their final match against Woodbridge Strikers U15. With a beautiful header by Emily Mijares, the girls took the championship. As a team, the girls were unstoppable and relentless in their pursuit of victory. Their heart, grit and determination shone and every single player should be proud of their performance. Thank you to the girls, to coaches Colin Francis and Steph Diceman, manager Constantine Richards, and all of the parents. Way to go, girls! #superteam!

The Whitby Soccer Club is proud to announce that one of its past young soccer players has signed a professional contract with Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers. Cameron Palmer played with the Whitby gold 2000 boys team and was coached by Steve Airlie until 2011-12 season. At this time, he was given the opportunity to realise his schoolboy dream of being a professional soccer player.

Steve and all the staff at the Whitby soccer club, are delighted to hear of Cameron’s success and would like to wish him all the very best in his professional career at Glasgow Rangers football club.

Congratulation's and all the best Cameron

Whitby U16A Boys Finalists in Michigan

A fantastic weekend for Whitby soccer at the International Jaguar Invitational Showcase in Novi Michigan!  Playing in the U16 Boys Elite Division (top of 3 tiers), our boys opened the 2016 pre-season with a very strong performance (3-0-0) in front of a few scouts, going undefeated in their Group, beating the top Erie squad 3-2, the Michigan Academy team 3-0, and a Windsor OYSL team 1-0, earning a well-deserved place in the Finals. Though our weekend ended in a tough loss vs. a dominant state team  I am delighted with the progress our team has made.

Congratulations to the U13 OPDL Girls !!!

The U13 OPDL girls team had a fantastic weekend at the Kalamazoo Crusaders Cup. With 1 tie and 3 wins they took home the Gold after a nail biting 2-1 Final Game.
Thanks to coaches David Thorburn and Jon Miller for their efforts with the team and a special thanks to Manager Becky Gregorcic for all her hard work in arranging this great weekend !!!

Well done girls !!!!

The WISC would like to congratulate (pictured left to right) Lauryn Arruda 2001 girls, Giulia Giovinazzi 2002 girls, and Keyosha Donkor 2002 girls, on their selection to their respective 2001 and 2002 provincial girl's teams.

This is a fantastic achievement by the girls and is the result of their hard work throughout a lengthy season long identification process by the OSA's OPDL & provincial selectors.

OPDL Head Coach Steve Airlie and WISC Technical Director David Thorburn are proud to have worked with the girls over the past 2 years, Thorburn commented that he would also like to thank OPDL coach Bart Herdsman who has coached the two 2002 girls for the past 5 years.

Fantastic job to all concerned David Thorburn

The Whitby Iroquois OPDL U15 Girls travelled to Richmond, Virginia March 24th-26th to compete in one of the largest university and college soccer showcases in North America. The girls impressed the Americans with wins over Florida Clearwater Chargers Select 3-1, New York's ISA MIA 00 NPL 2-0 (ranked 31st in the nation, won the Disney Showcase and had not lost in 2 years), and New Jersey's Brick Township SA Fury 5-1.  The girls played a tough, physical team from Ohio South FOSC Red Rage in the final, scoring first only to see the Ohio team fight back with 2 goals of their own for the championship.  The girls team also had the support of four players from our 2002 OPDL team, thus some players were matching up with girls almost two years older.  Coach Steve Airlie and Technical Director David Thorburn would like to congratulate the girls for a tremendous achievement putting Whitby Iroquois S.C. on the map.  Team members are Lauryn Arruda, Missy Balachorek, Mackenzie Campbell, Sofia Conforti, Megan Couthino, Venessa Dixon, Renee Falkner, Giulia Giovinazzi,Hannah Harkin, Megan LaHay, Cierra Meredith, Nailah Rowe, Olivia Sacuevo, Alex Stewart, Trystan Thompson-Cotterell, Kelsey Wiliams and Kaelin Wright.
