Indoor 2023-24

Indoor Recreational Soccer - 2023-24 Season

We are proud to offer indoor soccer for boys and girls from 4 to 18 years of age (birth years 2020 to 2005).   Our goal is to expand the enjoyment of soccer in Whitby and the surrounding community.  

Features:

  • 20 week season for U6 to U18
  • 10 week season for U3
  • Saturday CO-ED divisions start date is Saturday October 14, 2023
  • Boys ONLY* and Girls ONLY* divisions begin on / after Tuesday October 10, 2023 (*depending on registration numbers); Monday divisions start date is Monday October 16, 2023
  • full player uniform;
  • approved Ontario Soccer referees for U8, U10, U12;
  • U6 & U8 - 4v4 or 5v5 playing format
  • U10 & U12 - Game Format:   7v7,  with GK, 2x25 minute half, 5 minute halftime
  • U6 & U8 Fun Skills Day (March 2024)
  • U6 COED Saturday & U8 COED Saturday Fun Day is March 9, 2024; U10 COED & U12 COED Sunday Festival Day is March 24, 2024
  • Festivals for U10 & U12 divisions (March 2024 Boys / Girls); 

There will be NO games scheduled on/between:

  • Saturday December 23, 2023 - Monday January 1, 2024

All players must wear shinpads.  Soccer cleats are not mandatory but recommended.  NO jewellery.  Requests for refunds will only be considered prior to the first day of the season and subject to $35 administrative fee.

U6 Boys ONLY can select either a 5pm or 6pm time slot on Wednesdays and U6 Girls ONLY can select a 6pm time slot on Wednesdays

U8 Boys ONLY can select either a 5pm or 6pm time slot and U8 Girls ONLY can select either a 5pm or 6pm time slot on Tuesdays

Whitby FC will attempt to accommodate direct friend requests.  In order to get team lists completed early, no friend requests will be accepted after Sept 15.  One friend request only. 
Requests for specific coaches are not accepted.

U3 COED (Fall OR Winter session)

Program provides a curriculum framework for children focusing on soccer skills tailored to include Physical Literacy :

  • Basic Motor Skills
  • Emotional, personal and social development
  • Individual Ball Mastery
  • Cognitive Development

Young players will be exposed to the World’s # 1 skills method lead by qualified Coaching Instructors

Participation in this program will assist children in developing positive 'self esteem'; promote a healthy attitude towards physical activity as well as developing basic physical literacy and ball skills.

Training Overview: Ball Mastery – Exercises changing direction moves where players work alone using the ball with high repetition of touches

U6 Program details (2019 & 2018)

The emphasis is on lots of touches, dribbling, passing, shooting. Small-sided games are in a 4v4 format. Players should play a fair amount of time in each position by rotating through each "position" on the field. Sessions include a 20 minute warm-up followed by a 4v4 small-sided game which is 2 x 15 minute halves (with a five minute break) against the team you are scheduled to share the field.

U6 Girls ONLY Wed - 6 to 6:20pm Wednesdays - 4v4, 2x15 minutes, 5 minute half (no GK) 6:20 to 6:55pm
U6 Co-ed Saturdays - 12 to 12:20pm Saturdays - 4v4, 2x15 minutes, 5 minute half (no GK) 12:20 to 12:55pm

U8 Program details (2017 & 2016)

Similar to the U6 program, the emphasis continues to be on lots of touches, dribbling, passing, shooting.  Small-sided games are in a 5v5 format. Players should play a fair amount of time in each position by rotating through each "position" on the field. Sessions include a 10 minute warm-up followed by a 5v5 small-sided game including a goalkeeper which is 2 x 20 minute halves (with a five minute break) against the team you are scheduled to share the field.
