Play-by-Play Host for DARBY FC (mens) / WHITBY FC
Are you an aspiring sports broadcaster looking to launch your soccer play-by-play career?
Whitby FC are in search of several play-by-play hosts to provide live-video streaming coverage of its League 1 Ontario Darby FC men’s soccer team home matches and other select home matches (OPDL boys/girls; U21 & U19 Darby FC men’s reserve teams) throughout the 2023 season (April to mid-October).
Play-by-play responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform live play-by-play coverage of assigned Darby FC/Whitby FC live-video streamed matches; and all the necessary individual prep work involved in preparing for a two hour live broadcast.
- Perform one-on-one player and/or coach interviews before, during and/or after matches, when needed/requested.
- Self-produce live stream broadcast: perform routine checks of stream, light, video and microphone quality/levels throughout assigned broadcast.
- May need to provide assistance in game day setup and tear down of broadcast equipment and broadcast platform.
Play-by-play experience:
Experience is an asset, but not a must. More importantly, the successful candidate/s identified must show a willingness to learn and improve as a play-by-play host, while receiving talent coaching feedback, throughout the season. The successful candidate(s) must also have their own transportation to and from the Whitby Soccer Centre.
Compensation:
The successful candidate(s) will receive an honorarium.
