Performance Academy - U3 to U6

Calling all Rising Soccer stars - Summer 2018

Join the Performance Academy this summer.  The academy features:

  • U3's - 12 weeks of training
  • U3's - training starts at 6pm
  • U3 academy is co-ed and offered at the Whitby Soccer Centre
  • U4 to U6's - 14 weeks of training
  • U4 to U6's - training time starts at 6:30pm (approx 1 hour session)
  • U4 to U6 academies offer gender specific or co-ed options
  • U4 to U6 academies offer location choices in Whitby and Brooklin
  • full uniform and player photo
  • each player receives a soccer ball
  • shinpads are mandatory; cleats are optional but recommended
  • no jewellery
  • Performance Academy players are welcome to attend our ActiveStart Festival in August

Just a friendly reminder ...

Parents / spectators sit on the opposite side of the field from the coaches and players. Parents should cheer for all of the players on the field, not just their own.  Parents / spectators are not permitted to sit near the corners, the goal line or the goal.

2018 Outdoor registration is closed

Early bird registration period has now ended.  Effective April 1, fees increased by $25. Please note, the increased fee also applies to any unpaid registrations entered prior to April 1.

Requests for refunds will only be considered prior to the first day of the academy and subject to $35 administrative fee.

No goalkeepers / no scores or standings / coaches act as game supervisors and are allowed on the field (1 coach per team please)

Games are played on Statutory Holidays such as Victoria Day, Canada Day and the Civic Holiday.

In the case of rain, please check the Home page for field closures which are posted as soon as possible.

If the field status is OPEN, please proceed to your game.


Academy details

Program provides a curriculum framework for children focusing on soccer skills tailored to include: 

Physical Literacy:  

  • Basic motor skills
  • Emotional, personal and social development
  • Individual ball mastery
  • Cognitive development 

Training Overview:

  • Ball Mastery – exercises changing direction moves where players work alone using the ball with high repetition of touches
  • Physical Literacy – fun games incorporating game specific movements
  • Small-sided games for U4, U5 and U6 academies – 1v1 and 3v3 games ... fun, fun, fun

The Best 4U details

The emphasis will be on lots of touches with both feet - running with the ball, stopping and changing direction with the ball, dribbling, kicking and shooting. Sessions include a 20 minute warm-up, 5 minute "break" and will conclude with a 3v3 small-sided game against the team you are scheduled to share the field.

5's R Us Details

The emphasis will be on lots of touches with both feet, running with the ball, stopping and changing direction with the ball, dribbling, kicking and shooting. Sessions include a 20 minute warm-up, 5 minute "break" and conclude with a 4v4 small-sided game against the team you are scheduled to share the field.

Super 6's details

The emphasis will be on lots of touches, dribbling, passing, shooting. Small-sided games are in a 4v4 format. Players should play a fair amount of time in each position by rotating through each "position" on the field. Sessions include a 15 minute warm-up, 5 minute "break" and conclude with a 4v4 small-sided game (2x15 min. halves) against the team you are scheduled to share the field.
