Child U3 to U6

Calling all Rising Soccer stars - Summer 2019

Join our Active Start (U3-U5) program this summer.  The program features:

  • U3's - 12 weeks of training
  • U3's - training starts at 6pm
  • U3 program is co-ed and offered at the Whitby Soccer Centre
  • U4 & U5's - 14 weeks of training
  • U4 & U5's - training time starts at 6:30pm (approx 1 hour session)
  • U4 & U5 programs offer gender specific or co-ed options
  • U4 & U5 programs offer location choices in Whitby and Brooklin
  • full uniform and player photo
  • each player receives a soccer ball
  • shinpads are mandatory; cleats are optional but recommended
  • no jewellery
  • Players are welcome to attend our ActiveStart Festival on August 24th

U6 - FUNdamentals

Join our FUNdamentals U6 program this summer.  The program features:

  • U6's - 14 weeks of training
  • U6's - training time starts at 6:30pm (approx 1 hour session)
  • U6 program offers gender specific or co-ed options
  • U6 program offers location choices in Whitby and Brooklin
  • full uniform and player photo
  • each player receives a soccer ball
  • shinpads are mandatory; cleats are optional but recommended
  • no jewellery
  • U6 players are welcome to attend our ActiveStart Festival on August 24th

Early bird registration period in effect up to and including March 15.  Effective March 16, fees will increase by $30. Please note, the increased fee will also apply to any unpaid registrations entered prior to March 16.

Processing fees will apply for all online registrations.

Please note, fee increases in the Town of Whitby Sport Permits for the field & lighting costs and new technology fees charged by Ontario Soccer.

Requests for refunds will only be considered prior to the first day of the academy and subject to $35 administrative fee.

Program details - U3-U6

Program provides a curriculum framework for children focusing on soccer skills tailored to include: 

Physical Literacy:  

  • Basic motor skills
  • Emotional, personal and social development
  • Individual ball mastery
  • Cognitive development 

Training Overview:

  • Ball Mastery – exercises changing direction moves where players work alone using the ball with high repetition of touches
  • Physical Literacy – fun games incorporating game specific movements
  • Small-sided games for U4, U5 and U6 programs – 3v3, 4v4 games ... fun, fun, fun

No goalkeepers / no scores or standings / coaches act as game supervisors and are allowed on the field (1 coach per team please)


U4, Fun & More

The emphasis will be on lots of touches with both feet - running with the ball, stopping and changing direction with the ball, dribbling, kicking and shooting. Sessions include a 20 minute warm-up, 5 minute "break" and will conclude with a 3v3 small-sided game against the team you are scheduled to share the field.

U5, All Alive

The emphasis will be on lots of touches with both feet, running with the ball, stopping and changing direction with the ball, dribbling, kicking and shooting. Sessions include a 20 minute warm-up, 5 minute "break" and conclude with a 4v4 small-sided game against the team you are scheduled to share the field.


U6 Girls - Willow Park

U6 - FUNdamentals

The emphasis will be on lots of touches, dribbling, passing, shooting. Small-sided games are in a 4v4 format. Players should play a fair amount of time in each position by rotating through each "position" on the field. Sessions include a 15 minute warm-up, 5 minute "break" and conclude with a 4v4 small-sided game (2x15 min. halves) against the team you are scheduled to share the field.

FYI's

Games are played on Statutory Holidays such as Victoria Day, Canada Day and the Civic Holiday.

In the case of rain, please check the Home page for field closures which are posted as soon as possible.

If the field status is OPEN, please proceed to your game.

Just a friendly reminder ...

Parents / spectators sit on the opposite side of the field from the coaches and players. Parents should cheer for all of the players on the field, not just their own.  Parents / spectators are not permitted to sit near the corners, the goal line or the goal.
