Outdoor Recreational - Child U3 to U6 Program details

Program provides a curriculum framework for children focusing on soccer skills tailored to include - Physical Literacy:  

  • Basic motor skills
  • Emotional, personal and social development
  • Individual ball mastery
  • Cognitive development 

Training Overview:

  • Ball Mastery – exercises changing direction moves where players work alone using the ball with high repetition of touches
  • Physical Literacy – fun games incorporating game specific movements
  • Small-sided games for U4, U5 and U6 programs – 3v3, 4v4 games ... fun, fun, fun

Calling all Rising Soccer stars

We need volunteer coaches for our child / youth recreational program.  If you are able to volunteer your time, please complete the online Coach volunteer form.  Thank you ... we appreciate your time.

Whitby FC will provide a $100 coach rebate towards the Indoor 2025-26 season or the Outdoor 2026 season.  The rebate is available to head coaches only.

Program notes

Program fee for U3 to U6 includes - full uniform (jersey, shorts, socks) and photos

  • shinpads are mandatory; cleats are optional but recommended (no jewellery)

Schedules and rosters will be uploaded to team pages in early May.  Our programs may take place on Statutory holidays such as Victoria Day, Canada and the Civic holiday

In the case of rain, please check the Home page for field closures which are posted as soon as possible.  If the field status is OPEN, please proceed to your game.

Whitby FC will attempt to accommodate direct friend requests ONLY.  In order to get team lists completed early, no friend requests will be accepted after April 1.  One friend request only.  Requests for specific coaches are not accepted.   

We request all players in U3 to U6 to participate in age (birth year) appropriate program.  Play-up requests for U3 - U6 divisions will not be considered.

*Processing fees will apply for all online registrations.  Requests for refunds will only be considered prior to the first day of the season and subject to $35 administrative fee.   After the start of the season, refunds are processed due to medical reasons (doctor's note must be submitted).

As a friendly reminder, we request parents / spectators sit on the opposite side of the field from the coaches and players (avoiding the corners / goal line or goal area). Please support / cheer for all of the players on the field. 

SportsEngine

The Club uses SportsEngine to communicate to players.  Please remember to periodically check your SportsEngine email box for any updates.  Once team lists have been completed, registered players have access to the roster and team schedule the SE mobile app.

We strongly recommend that a parent or sibling attends with our U3 to U6 players to help assist with social distancing and complete technical based activities.
